Belgravia Police Station

Many Westminster residents have contacted me with their concerns regarding the Mayor’s proposals to consolidate policing resources in London.

Locally, plans have been put forward to close Belgravia Police Station, meaning that policing in Westminster will be focused out of the existing Charing Cross Police Station. Whilst the Mayor has stated that such a move would not lead to reducing front line officer numbers, there is understandable anxiety about the removal of a well-established front-desk service, not to mention the loss of reassurance that Belgravia Police Station provides to local residents.

I have written to Sophie Linden, Deputy Mayor for Policing, outlining these concerns and urging her and her team to look again at these proposals and am campaigning alongside Tony Devenish AM and Shaun Bailey AM, and Westminster Conservative councillors to see the station kept open.
