Baker Street and Gloucester Please Two-Way Switch 21-24 February

As many of you living in, commuting to or visiting the Baker Street area will know, there has been a flurry of activity in recent months as the Baker Street Two Way project enters its final stages. As a result of this work, the traffic flow will shortly be switched to two-way traffic flow at Baker Street and Gloucester Place.

Work is now completed on the key junctions and the surrounding streets and resurfacing works have also been undertaken on many of the junctions. The next stage will see a series of temporary road closures to allow two-way traffic flow to be introduced, before the final works are completed.

The switch to two-way working on Baker Street and Gloucester Place is proposed to be undertaken from 21-24 February 2019, subject to suitable weather conditions. Both roads will need to be closed in phases during this period, whilst road markings are painted and temporary central islands are installed. As this work is dependent on the weather, the switch could potentially be delayed if there is bad weather such as heavy rain.

Any changes to the programme will be communicated through project email updates, the project website and social media. If you do not currently receive these email updates, please subscribe at www.bakerstreettwoway.co.uk/#contact as the project website www.bakerstreettwoway.co.uk , social media and newsletter will be the main way to remain informed with the latest information.

Please find below an attached leaflet providing more detailed information, including the phasing of the road closure, diversions, other methods of travel by public transport, alternative dates if bad weather should cause a delay and contact details for the project team.

This leaflet is being delivered to local residents, businesses and organisations throughout the area, to ensure everyone is aware of the scheduled dates for the closure. In addition, Westminster City Council are in close communication with a wider group of contacts, such as emergency services, freight companies, other local authorities and many more, to ensure they have all the necessary details.
